My response to Berlin – because of the limited time I had to produce something and the surplus amount of paint stock that I have, I gave painting another go – wrong idea!!
Berlin 24,25,26th February, 2015
Last trip with college!
We’ve just landed at Schonefeld Airport, and on the bus en route to the Generator Hostel, Mitte district of Berlin.
Some sights are beginning to look very familiar as we drive down Friedrichstrasse, such as Check Point Charlie..
Graffiti walls, and the Berlin TV Tower (Fernsehturm) which was built in 1969 by the East German Government as a demonstration of its superior technological know-how.
I soon realised that the hostel was next door to where the old ‘Art House’ (Kunsthause) now a makeshift car park –
This is what it looked liked when I last visited :
Booked in, unpacked in room 203, which I shared with Julie, Rhona, Susana, Deri and Ellen, and off we went all 27 of us to look for food.
DAY 2 – Wednesday 25.2.15
Fantastic ceiling in the breakfast room and reception of this hostel.

“Ich bin ein Berliner”
(John F. Kennedy, 1963)
Hamburger Bahnhof – Museum fur Gegenwart, Invalidenstrasse 50-51, Mitte
KW Institute for Contemporary Art – closed due to refurbishment!
